What if your school has closed and reopened

To make sure the right school is held responsible for each year’s performance measures, we assign results to the school as it was at the start of the academic year.

We treat this date as 12 September, to take account of differing start term dates.

If a school closes and reopens with the same 7-digit local authority establishment (LAESTAB) number, we usually treat it as the same school.

If a school closes and reopens with a new establishment number, we treat it as a new school for accountability purposes.
